We see the vents in the room, and we know there is a furnace or air conditioner somewhere warming or cooling the air. We forget about the air ducts that bring the air from the heating/cooling units to the air vents (the supply) and draw air in and carry it back to the heating/cooling units (the return).
Air Duct Contaminants
Dust and dust mites, and pollens and other allergens accumulate in every air duct, providing a good place for bacteria and mold to grow. This build up negatively impact the HVAC – Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning – system and the quality of the air in a home or business. The contaminants get blown around, circulating through the return ducts. The heating/cooling unit’s blower has to work harder and harder to move the air, increasing the owner’s electricity bill and wear and tear on the blower. The contaminants also circulate throughout the home or business every time the blower runs, making the air unhealthy, aggravating symptoms of those with sinus allergies and/or asthma. Air filters help but they cannot capture all the contaminants, even when they are changed regularly.
Time To Clean
We at Spot Free HVAC recommend our clients have us clean their ducts normally especially when exceptions are special circumstances such as a lot of dust from recent construction work, pets in the home or business, or if family members or employees have severe allergies. In those cases, we recommend cleaning frequently.
Spot Free offers a number of air duct cleaning services to both residential and commercial clients. We use the patented Rotobrush vacuum system to ensure our client’s home or business HVAC system is spotless. Although we are based in Hayward, we serve clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
